MCAF's Free Health Camp benefits local people of a rural village Lapsiphedi.

On 8th September 2011, Health Camp at Jaharsingh Pauwa, Lapsiphedi Village Organized by MCAF benefited more than 300 local villagers of this region. Though the camp started a while late than the previous scheduled time, it went very smoothly with the help of local volunteers and enthusiasts of the Medial crew and organizers.

We have been organizing these sorts of free health camps and health awareness programs occasionally in a view to aware about health issues and provide treatment facilities to the general public living in rural villages. Accordingly this time MCAF organized a Free Health Camp at a rural village called Jaharsingh Pauwa, Lapsiphedi. Most of the people living in this region are poor indigenous ethnic group and marginalized people. There are not any Hospitals and health facilities in this region. Only a health post with limited medicines and not any lab facilities is not enough for the people in that large village. Therefore we found many people there are suffering from chronic diseases in lack of proper health awareness and health facilities.

There were 2 general physician, 2 gynecologists, 2 Primary Care Physician for child disease, 3 nurses and a medicine personnel at the Camp, altogether 10 members in Medical Crew. Local Volunteers did vital support in arranging the necessary supplies and crowd management. A part from them we MCAF crew, the organizer team did much planned and systematic management throughout the period.  It was amazing to see that from newly born baby to 91 years old lady coming to have health treatment at the camp. The lady of 91 years seems as energetic as we young people. She told us that she does all the household works and some farming as well by herself.

Some of the people were found with major diseases and sickness, need for special high treatment. So they are advised to go to the hospitals recommended by MCAF with up to 30% discount offers.

We had taken several medicines worth Rs.76,000. Given free to the prescribed patients and some remaining medicines at the end was handed over to Jaharsingh Pauwa Health Post and been gratefully received.

Health awareness speech and practices to the villagers by the doctors and organizing team members at the camp were the very rewarding mutual beneficial  experiences.

Overall the camp was very successful in providing health services to the rural villagers.  Huge thank goes to volunteers and supporters. We will keep doing these sorts of programs in the future.  You are most welcome to join and support us in any ways you can. Thank you.
