-› Summer project completes with great success
MCAF Summer project 2011

MCAF Summer project 2011 has been recently completed with great success. Enthusiasts and the devotion of all the eight World Challenge European and Australian Teams made this possible.

Summer community service projects of 2011 were started from the end of June and finished in the middle of August. There were five project teams from UK, namely Haberdashers Monmouth School for Girls Team 1 and 2, Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School, King Edward VI School and Bury St Edmunds Team 4 and 5. There were also two Teams from Australia, Xavier College Team 1 and 2 and a team from Germany, Bonn International School. The secret to the success of these projects are all the works of building construction, renovation, toilet bathroom construction, water resources, like water taps, water filter, tube well, painting and educational drawings are being done by the project teams themselves, those who were born and raised in advanced and wealthy societies. It was the greatest, most inspirational lesson for everyone to do all sorts of work without hesitation, no matter whether the work was laborious or not. Those projects made immense change in the standard of schools in the rural areas of Nepal. Gifts from project teams such as sport equipment, computers, and science lab equipment like microscopes, pencils, pens and books were gratefully received by the children and schools. As a return most of the project teams also got a token of love from the project site schools. Welcome and farewell programs to the projects teams were remarkable in a complete Nepalese traditional way. Interaction programs, taking class to the kids, playing sports and hiking through village were the very rewarding experiences to both Project Teams and the community.

We are very pleased and thankful to all the teams for their great support which helped raise the standard of schools in the rural areas of Nepal.

We would like to notify everyone that we have 9 community service projects for this winter and project site surveys for site selection are being thoroughly carried out. We are also in search of long term sustainable projects for school building construction for 2012. Eligible schools are requested to contact our head office as soon as possible.
