1.Shram Jyoti Public School:

We have established a School in 2009 Called Shram Jyoti Public School in order to provide a home and schooling facility for child labors, disables, street children and orphans, as well as to the children of lower class families who are under the poverty line.
It is located in Jorpati, Attarkhel, 8 k. m. a way from central Katmandu. We have been providing education to more than 250 students in the first year. Due to lack of funding we could only provide minimal standards. We hope to be successful in our goal with better standards in the future. They are three to fourteen years old.
Brief Description of School establishment:

There was violence and civil war between Maoist terrorist and the government of Nepal for eleven years up until a few years ago. Many people in the villages suffered severely from that violence. Many Maoists, policemen, armies and public were killed during the war. Many women lost their husbands and many children lost their parents. Many people had to leave the villages for the city areas in search of a secure life. This was a huge disaster which turned many women to widows and children to orphans. Due to this incident the rate of unemployment as well as widows, orphans, child labor and street children increased greatly.
On the other hand, most of the people who migrated from the mountains, hilly and Terai plain lowland regions to the Kathmandu valley have been finding employment opportunities through carpet industries, construction companies and working as potters. Most of these people are illiterate, lacking basic knowledge and skills, and are of poor indigenous groups. Though they work for 12 – 16 hours a day, they have great hardship to manage their livelihood. Due to these problems most of them cannot afford to send their children to standard Private schools. In Nepal we have very limited free government schools, and they are of very poor education standards. They are not enough to educate all children.
We have been looking for a good solution for this for a long time. Finally with the help of many well-wishers and supporters we have established a school on a land of 7 ropanies in Attarkhel, Jorpati, Kathmandu.
