The experience at the school was memorable as the completion of each task created a greater atmosphere. Within five days we got, the team had completed many painting jobs that made the school brighter and visually appealing. Other than painting, the group had installed two fences that would project the students from falling. The overall project was a success as we also helped set up the next group’s school project. With the help of Naresh our project at Shree Yuva Barsa Primary School was outstanding as we had a notable impact. The only little con that I could have remembered is the lack of communication with how the school wanted us to spend our money. This was made harder due to the language barriers. Though overall the experience was wonderful.

This experience was enlightening and opened up my eyes to an entirely different world. I highly enjoyed contributing to the project site despite how hard the work was at some points. Playing with children and watching their faces light up was so rewarding. However the lack of personal space at the end of each day did become too much at some points. The highlight of my trip was painting the classrooms and seeing the children use the paintings and singing with them. The food was excellent and there was always plenty to go around which allowed each day to begin and end on a high note.

The food was extremely good and I enjoyed every meal we had. I enjoyed learning about the Nepalese culture more. Spending time and playing games with the students was very fun and I had made many new friends. I am proud of the project work we have done for the school and I am excited to see what the school has done in the next few years.
I enjoyed my trip very much!

1.    Project: There was a lot of work to do at this site. I recommend more schools come here to improve the schools facilities urgently. The workers were too slow and we would have liked to get more things done here. I think better communication to the skilled workers and the school of our aims would help the project to improve.
2.    School: The school is in need of improvement and more facilities. The welcome by the school was very impressive. More integration with the school classrooms and teachers would be helpful for developing a sense of community.
3.    People: The principal, Lal, Jeevan were all very welcoming and helpful. It would have been better for our team to talk to the principal, Jeevan and Lal, all at the same time to set goals and aims and work together.
4.    Food: The food was very delicious and there was lots of it. Thank you Nanda! It was really great.

Thank you for letting us to contribute to making the school a better place for all students. We really enjoyed it a lot!

•    Good project site with easy access to bus.
•    School staff very friendly and very accommodating.
•    Host Lal was very good and the kids loved him.
•    Jeevan visiting was good for the kids.
•    Project cooks were very friendly and the food was fantastic.
•    Need more guidance as to multiple jobs that need doing at this site. The roof was the priority but after the students paid for it they could not work on it. We were forced to invent other jobs to do with no real guidance.
•    Recommend future jobs :
1. Finish wall fence and painting
2. Paint exterior buildings
3. Fix wooden furniture

Thanks to Lal and Jeevan for a very successful project and big thanks to the cooks for excellent food.

I had the privilage of meeting Jeevan Lama on his recent visit to Rugby in the UK. I was impressed by his passion and commitment to the beneficies of MCAF. I wish all those concerned with MCAF every success and happiness for the future.

I have really enjoyed my time working with MCAF and seeing the positive result of my work. The task was achievable which the time we had and I am glad to have been able to finish the job. I think that MCAF and our representative worked well and supported us in the work we had to do. I am happy to have used my time to help to other and hope that the work I have done is useful for years to come.
Thank you.

I found the time we spend a good experience for me and the rest of the group. It was fun to have the freedom to choose where to help out and for our group to decide what to do. I think we have done some more with interacting with the kids, possibly organized a sports day or something fun for them but I think if it’s something you suggest then it may be properly planned by a group. The food was excellent and the cooking staff were very friendly and helpful. I hope this was helpful, Thanks
